Description
A DISNEY GIRL FOR EVERY NATION is a series I invented thinking about Disney movie settings and characters' nationalities. I decided to represent every Disney girl with a typical costume of her nation and the corresponding flag on the background. Nationalities are based on movies, and when the settings isn't mentioned (like in the Little Mermaid or in Snow White) I considered the author's birthplace (Andersen from Denmark and The Brothers Grimm from Germany).

September 5, 2010. Thanks to your proper critiques, I realized that I made a mistake: even if in the movie her birthplace is not mentioned, according to Victor Hugo's novel, Esmeralda was born in France.
I let myself deceiving by her exotic look and name. Anyway... I think she looks great wearing a flamenco dress, doesn't she?

Given this predates Asha and France has like three princesses to choose from, I can definitely understand assigning Esmeralda to Spain. She may have been born and raised in Paris, but her name does suggest a Spanish connection of some kind. Perhaps she has a Calé grandmother.
